Grief and Loss, Pregnancy and Birth
My artwork explores issues of loss and sacrifice, life, death and our relentless pursuit to find hope and meaning in the face of tragedy and often incomprehensible change. These paintings ask how do we continue to live in the face of death? How do we continue to find day-to-day meaning and joy in light of our own mortality?
Birth offers us an avenue to discover new strengths and courage as we reach inside our depths to bring a new being into the world. The time of pregnancy and birth brings hope, joy and a profound awareness that the miraculous force of life will always continue.
